Birthday Calculator
The next birthday is a natural milestone — whether you are planning a party, scheduling a medical check-up tied to age, or just counting down. This calculator takes a birth date and tells you exactly when the next birthday lands, how many days remain, which weekday it falls on, and the new age you will reach. If today is the birthday, it says so explicitly.

How is the Birthday calculated?
Enter the day, month and year of birth. The calculator compares the birth month and day against today (UTC). If that date has not yet occurred this year, the next birthday is this year; otherwise it is next year. Leap-day births (29 February) use 28 February as the anniversary in non-leap years. The weekday comes from the Gregorian calendar, and the age turning is the difference between the birthday year and the birth year.
Formula
Next birthday = birth month/day in the current year if that date ≥ today, otherwise next year. For 29 Feb in a non-leap year, use 28 Feb. Days until = next birthday − today (exclusive, UTC). Weekday = Gregorian weekday of next birthday. Age turning = next birthday year − birth year.
Example
Born 15 August 1990, checked 20 October 2024: next birthday is 15 August 2025 (a Friday), 299 days away, turning 35. If checked on 15 August 2024, the calculator reports 'Today is your birthday!' with 0 days remaining and age turning 34. Born 3 December 1998, checked on the same 20 October 2024: next birthday is 3 December 2024 (a Tuesday), only 44 days away, turning 26.
Things to remember
The weekday helps with party planning (weekend vs weekday). The days-until figure feeds the countdown calculator if you want hours and minutes too. For leap-day birthdays, note that legal age milestones (18, 21) may follow local rules — some jurisdictions treat 28 Feb as the legal birthday in non-leap years.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the calculator handle 29 February birthdays?
In non-leap years it treats 28 February as the anniversary for the 'has the birthday passed' check. The next birthday shown will be 28 February in non-leap years and 29 February in leap years.
What happens if today is my birthday?
The calculator detects this and shows 'Today is your birthday!' with 0 days remaining. The age turning is the age you reach today.
Why does the weekday of my birthday matter?
Weekend birthdays are easier for parties and gatherings; weekday birthdays may need advance planning for time off. The calculator shows the weekday so you can plan ahead.
Can I use this for someone else's birthday?
Yes — just enter their birth date. The calculator works for any past date of birth, so you can check a friend's or relative's next birthday, the days remaining and the age they will turn without needing to know their current age.
